a hole in the sky, that needs to be patched
i covered it up with some straw and thatch
but one day it all came a-raining down
leaving me helpless with a knot to be bound
a knot in my heart, an ache to be soothed
i sputtered it out in an effort to move
words held unsaid everyday that we met
and was left with a hole in my heart instead
a hole in my heart, all empty inside
i picked up some pieces but they never did fit
a you-sized hole will thus in me remain
till that bittersweet day when i am whole again
